Time to talk about the best kept secret GEM inside the Galaga machine in the Dumb arcade... QIX.
QIX is a 1981 puzzle arcade game developed and published by Taito. The objective is to fence off, or claim, a supermajority of the playfield. At the start of each level, the playing field is a large, empty rectangle, containing the "Qix"—a stick-like entity that performs graceful but unpredictable motions within the confines of the rectangle.
Simple yet also can be complex... and maybe the most addicting game of the whole arcade. I am happy to announce that I currently hold the high score of 101,000... but I know that some day I can be unthroned of my QIX crown.
There are some great youtube videos on people mastering this game out there... can you embed a youtube on this forum.?? we will see...

I always try to entrap the Qix thing using fast plays (a.k.a. GREEN space) and take up as little area as possible.
Then once I have the Qix thing like all the way surrounded, I hit 'em with that slowwww play (a.k.a RED space) to finish up the job. That way most of the area I've claimed is from a slow play, thus more points.
I usually try to do this for the first two rounds and that can rack up a really high score real quick. Then in subsequent rounds if you split the Qix a couple times, you can start racking up points quickly by claiming area using slow plays.
