The last five or so years have been the best time for the broader Post Punk genre since the 1980's. There are so many current acts that are not only replicating the sound faithfully but moving it forward. Post your favorite new or classic bands that you slowly sway side to side too.
Here are some of my favorite current bands
Soft Kill
Drab Majesty
Choir Boy
Keluar
She Past Away
Cold Cave
Molchat Doma
Weathered Statues
Black Marble
Secret Shame

The L Shaped Man is only a decent album but have any bands besides The Cure made the full transition from punk to literally being POST playing PUNK

One of the top 5 Cure songs for sure. Full Cure discussion thread what we really need. You right. I'll start one up. My partner and I were just having a discussion about The Cure and our question during the discussion could hold an entire thread. In the mean time here are some more bangers of newer bands. Hopefully this thread can become a go to reference point for someone that feels they are not sad enough. Linea Aspera Boy Harsher The Soft Moon The Twilight Sad

I'm in love & this is gonna go on repeat Lately it's been this one Lots of these guys too Most this guy's other stuff classic 2012 hipster pop, but this song deserves mention I'd never seen this video till now & I'm LOVING the classic Italian cinema aesthetic & speaking of classic cinema, can't forget abt Daddy Danny Elfman would be Daddy if he wasn't anti-socialist This one goes SO unnecessary hard & this is a sound we're just not seeing these days

In 2010 at a cold cave show in Denver, they were setting up their shit and this band was playing overhead so I asked wes what it was, he said he didn't know but pointed to this other random guy in a trench coat carrying a synth, "ask him, he will know" the guy told me it was asylum party, and to look them up. It was this song.

Some of the original saddsters have been posted already like Asylum Party, Oingo Boingo, and The Cure but let's pay tribute to the ones you left and behind and that were always blue on Monday. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Cities in Dust Depeche Mode - Everything Counts. Please watch this video of these literal children doing their thing The Chameleons - Swamp Thing I drove to Chicago in 2014 or 1015 with Nathan Landolt to see the Chameleons play their final show in the United States. But then I've seen them two more times since then in Denver for some reason. The Smiths - This Charming Man New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle Bauhaus - Dark Entries Cocteau Twins - Cherry Coloured Funk
