Evidently a tom petty cover band is not allowed in, or a lip balmer, but the mayor and Abe Lincoln get a free pass.

Okay, the first ever Official Downtown Springfield Businesses Underground Pinball Tournament kicked off TODAY, these are VERY exciting times we are in. This tournament is going to be ongoing for the next month or so, so hold on to your hats pinsters, it's going to be a wild ride!!! I'll be posting updates every day! ALSO, I will keep updating the original post at the top of this thread to include an updated list of all of the scores for the current round we are in.
Looks like we are starting things off slow and steady - we had THREE businesses come in and put down scores today. All three of these can still come back at any point and up their high scores before Round 1 ends on September 6th. Those businesses were:
PRAIRIE ARCHIVES with 17,229,300 PUBLIC MARKET with 5,274,400 and THE PHARMACY GALLERY with 22,909,780
It's pretty clear that the ones that come in to keep playing multiple times are probably the ones that are going to end up on top here. ROBB from Prairie Archives is the clear crowd favorite and my money's on ROBB as well.
Best of luck to everyone out there.

I put my car on the line for you Innovate Springfield. You got this! Pull the plunger, feel the tilt and keep it on the inside.
May your flippers flip gracefully and bumpers bump true!!!!

The only thing that happened today was that Rob came in and upped his score to 21,071,530. Let's hope the coming days are more eventful for our tournament.

Here is your pinball tournament update for 8/23/20:

- the only new score that has been set today is Zach coming in on behalf of HEAD WEST SUB SHOP. Zach is manager of the Jefferson location, which is the closest to downtown other than the downtown location that has been closed since the pandemic. We'll let this slide. That score is 19,419,010.
- Patrick of REVERIE Apparel who is the unlucky one facing ROB came in and played for a good hour, unable to touch ROB's score. I comforted Patrick and gave him a few tips and pointers that may help him. He was too shy to want to put down any score because none of the ones he played came near to ROB's. Now that some of the top hitters may have put down scores other businesses are feeling a little intimidated right now.
- ROB himself then came in (he does everyday to play Asteroids even on Sundays). There were two girls hogging Medieval Madness the whole time.
- Hopefully we don't just end up with a bunch of dudes here on this tournament??? Where the pinball ladies at? All the female owned businesses sending their husbands over, wtf, pinball is not supposed to be a male-driven sport like that it is for ALL??
