Okay pinsters, today was a great day for the tournament! Looks as if speed is picking up for this whole thing, we have some great updates today!
- LINDA from SPRINGFIELD VINTAGE (who everyone knows and loves, big advocate of downtown and positivity) came in and set the HIGHEST SCORE YET of 25,537,780!!! Get it!!! Linda is facing Willow & Birch in this first round.
- ROB came in while Linda was playing and did not get any games in today! Haha, ROB!
- Then, we had GREG representing THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE come in. What a great guy. GREG laid down a score of 29,723,160, the new highest score!!!! Greg is going against ANVIL & FORGE.
- MONICA of WILD ROSE then came in, very nervous and very intimidated by the other high scores. All she had to do was beat PUBLIC MARKET's previous set high score of 5 million and she DID. With 9,277,470. Great job Monica!!

Sorry I didn't give an update yesterday. I was busy skateboarding through town being pulled by my elephant.
Yesterday the only thing that happened was that the folks at CRAFT BEER BAR discovered our arcade and joined in on the fun. Owner Morris came in and set a score of 16 million something. Then another guy Tom came in and dibbled around for a while. Then later on Morris aka "Mo" came back thirsty for more. After getting REAL into the game he scored a whooping 55,215,180 - a HIGH score for this machine altogether!! (The #1 highest score??? I forget where it was set at)

Okay sorry I didn't feel like giving an update last night again, here is your update on what happened yesterday for right now.@bennybuzzkill came in and set a score of 4,654,640. That is the worst score yet! The good news is that he is going up against Abraham Lincoln, who I sent a nice email to yesterday about coming in and playing pinball. Here was the response from the representative of Abraham Lincoln:OKay they lady emailed me again suggesting that we buy our own top hat and felt beard from the Lincoln Museum gift shop and then anybody can be LincolN??? At least things are looking good for the mayor coming in and playing pinball at some point. Other than that,- The Pharmacy upped their score to 41 million- Head West upped their score to 28 million. (both of those scores updated on the main post)

This rude comment disrespects the legacy of Lincoln if you ask me. Also you should have "LOL" change into Legacy of Lincoln whenever anyone says it on this board.

Okay here is the only small update from yesterday:
- the only new score we had come in was Jessica from Willow & Birch. She said she has never played pinball in her entire life, and was back there a good half hour or so setting her high score of 5,217,200. This was not nearly enough to beat Linda who she is up against in the first round, but at least not the worst score of the tournament that @bennybuzzkill has.

Okay sorry everybody, I got a LOT of catching up to do updating you all on some new scores and new standings with this tournament. I don't even remember where we left off, but I will be SURE to update every night from here on out.
We are now in the FINAL WEEK of ROUND ONE. Players have until the END OF THE DAY on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th to come in and place scores! Here are updates I can think of:
- Resource One came in and put down a score of 6,736,680. They put down a score of 11 million something but didn't take a picture of that one. They are all VERY excited, family owned business, and sounds like all of them are going to be coming by throughout this week to keep playing.
- Resource One is up against THE MAYOR, who I texted about the tournament and he says he is going to try to stop in tonight after he is done with the City Council Meeting.
- Kristi Mitchell (pictured below) and her crew of KIDS are all excited, and they have a current score of 11,955,060 now. They are up against LA PIAZZA who has yet to show up.
- Rob still comes in everyday but his score still stands at 21,071,530, which is no where near intimidating as it once was.
- Ben from DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD, INC. came in and set a score of 10,840,640. They are up against Daisy Jane's who has yet to set a score.
- PURE PERFORMANCE FITNESS has set a score of over 19 million now, up against THE PHARMACY'S score of 41 million. Looking like if we have enough no-shows and completely empty brackets Pure Performance may move on the the next card as the "wild card" bracket.
- INNOVATE SPRINGFIELD came in and set a score of 3,910,410 up against HEAD WEST, which manager of the Jefferson Location Zack is in like everyday and has upped his score to over 47 million. Katie from Innovate Springfield seems to be confident to return maybe with the help of others from her team.
- CRAFT BEER BAR continues to hold the highest score in the tournament at over 55 million.
- Greg from USPS came in and upped his score to be the second highest at 48,028,140.
Abraham Lincoln's people had declined my request of them joining this tournament, but I guess in Sunday's paper it turned out that he was arrested on charges of child pornography so it seems as if Abraham Lincoln might be out for good - www.sj-r.com/news/20200828/lincoln-reenactor-george-buss-arrested-on-child-pornography-charges

Alright I just did a big update on all of the scores. RESOURCE ONE, DAISY JANE'S, LA PIAZZA all came in and put down new scores yesterday, a lot of others are coming in and trying to increase their scores too. We are in the final five days of Round ONE now. I'll do a big update at the end of the day today.

Okay, to give you all an update on yesterday in the big tournament: there were NO new scores set at all. no one new came in, we just had the usual Rob, Greg from USPS, and Linda come in and not set higher scores.
NOW the opportunity has come up for me to host the next downtown retailers meeting this Tuesday, September 8th, SO I am thinking we should extend the deadline for Round 1 until that night so all of the owners attending that meeting can get some scores in and we can fill up the board some more before moving on to round 2.

Some more big updates yesterday, Chili Fan's. I'm gonna break it down one at a time:
- REVERIE APPAREL showed up to try to beat ROB one last time. Patrick walked in the door wearing a MEDIEVAL MADNESS SHIRT and I screamed so loud at the top of my lungs and there were a bunch of people shopping in my store. Then Patrick is determined to go back and give ROB a run for his money. He goes back there for a good hour or so and comes back with a score of 24,216,290.
- ROB comes in a bit later (he comes in every day) and can only get a score of 23,999,000 (so close).
- A couple of other newcomers yesterday. LONG NINE JUNCTION is a new new comer that I don't have on the bracket. Emily from there came in and set a score of 5,050,470. Now I have to figure out how we are gonna do the bracket now that we have 33 listings (and a lot that still haven't shown up). Thinking I might try to pull THREE TWIGS BAKERY into this.
- Pure Performance Leauge also came in and upped their score by a tiny bit, to 20 million something, I have to go back and look exactly what score.
- I got the chance to talk to Evan from ARLINGTON'S about their arcade and he came in to set a score of 25,063,020. He gave me a little rundown of the history of Arlington's and the Neighbors, and from what it sounds like he was saying, the old pinball machines that were at The Neighbors are just sitting in storage in the back of Arlington's.

Okay, another big update for today. Had a number of new scores go up on the board.
Katie from INNOVATE SPRINGFIELD came in and upped her score to a 11,977,020. Not bad! Unfortunately she is up against a 47 something million score from Head West.
Finally, Mike from ANVIL & FORGE came in and put down a hefty score of 34,306,260. Unfortunately for Mike he is up against the entire UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE which has a score set to 48 million. If someone gets to advance based on a wildcard slot where they are the highest scoring loser, right now that would be Mike.
A bunch of people from the SAA COLLECTIVE (which I guess is a art gallery based out of the Hoogland) came in and put down a score of 19 million something, then they upped it to 21 million. They are up against architecture firm FERRY & ASSOCIATES, who I am worried we have lost contact with and won't hear from again.

Okay, many updates once again after yesterday. Let's break it down, gang.
- Of course the big one is that BIG MAYOR JIM came by to play pinball. He played three games and didn't do so bad. There were a bunch of kids running around like wild in there while he was playing and I literally had to push one off of the game so the mayor could play. His score was 12,228,250. This is not enough to beat Resource One and move on to the next round, but we all knew this was going to happen. Jim's here to make a big grand appearance and that's it.
- ROB came in and upped his score. Uh oh. His new score is 29,513,160, now beating Reverie Apparel. This has been the most intense, competitive bracket here in the first round.
- CUSTOM CUP surprised us all when Megan came in here in the final days of round one and put down a score of 31,538,560! Out of left field!
- Johnny T representing BUZZ BOMB (finally) showed up at the end of the day and after a while scored a score of 16,348,680.
That's all for now. Just a couple more days of Round One left and then I'm going to need to clearly map out the bracket for the rest of the tournament, probably make some adjustments on dates.
