I'm seeing my boys in less than a week! I'm far more exited than my wife is. This could be because we're spending 75% of our time in Tampa at her parents place.

How did it go!? What did your boys do? They were fantastic! The venue wasn't great and had an echo, but I still had a blast. Sadly it was the shortest setlist of the tour. I've seen The Cure over 15 times, but this was my wife's first time. Watching her freak out for FTEOTDGS and Burn was my favorite part. Experiencing the new songs in person was my second favorite part. With Perry Bamonte back, I was hoping for more Bloodflowers, but that's okay. If Mr. Robert Smith ever reads this, RELEASE THE NEW ALBUM ALREADY! I see zero reason why Robert Smith wouldn't be on this forum. I'm happy I was able to buy merch online because those lines were insane. Just like in 2016 The Twilight Sad did their best to kill it to a half empty arena. Their setlist was set up perfectly to grab people's attention, then play a few songs that aren't as attention grabbing, then once the place filled up they played some real bangers. I liked them so much I ordered a few new guitar pedals.

I'm jealous you got Why Can't I Be You but I wouldn't trade it for Six Different Ways in the second encore. How much do you think Perry Bamonte was adding to set? Every time I was watching him he seemed to have either have been lightly strumming one string on a guitar or playing a keyboard with one finger.
The Twilight Sad ruled, just as they did on the 2016 tour, I hope seem people were able to discover them on between the two tours.
15 times?! Have you ever seem them play The Kiss that you can remember?

Perry's current job seems to be rhythm and to fill in the gaps when needed. Perry is my favorite because I'm also in the left handed gang. My opinions might be biased. I think he added more to a few of the songs than we realize because his stage presence is stiffer than Roger. I think Robert might've needed Perry to help finally finish this darn album. Fingers crossed Perry is challenged more with the album release tour. I'm hoping it'll be a lot of Bloodflowers mixed with the new stuff. I've seen them play The Kiss at least twice. My favorite show was in 2000. Here's the setlist www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-cure/2000/new-world-music-theatre-tinley-park-il-3d7e50b.html

I've always wanted to see The Kiss play as an opener. The fact that there are no vocals until 4 minutes I think would drive the crowd into a frenzy in that build up.
I have always thought of Bloodflowers as a lesser The Cure album. I might have a bias against it because it is regarded as a return to form after the miss of Wild Mood Swings. I've always really liked Wild Mood Swings though and it has some of my favorite songs on it. I think it fits right in line with The Top and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me if they would ever consider another trilogy show, as weird albums.
I'm re-listening to Bloodflowers right now with an open mind and an open heart. One of the times I saw them in 2016 they played 4 songs from it.
That show in 2000 is bold to play literally no Wish singles. I plan on listening after I finish Bloodflowers

Wild mood swings and Bloodflowers were my highschool albums. I hated wild mood swings for years, but one day it clicked and I realized how great that album actually is. Bloodflowers is up there on my list currently because I'm likely going through a midlife crisis.

So on my complete re-listen of Bloodflowers my opinion hasn't changed much. I think it is ok but still pretty far down in The Cure ranking. Out of This World and The Last Day of Summer are all time great songs. There is too much talk singing without effects on it that I can't get past and some of it sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom. Maybe I am just not DIY enough for this one.
Wild Mood Swings however, I think, The 13th, Strange Attraction, and Mint Car, and Round & Round are all time greats. Want, This is a Lie, Jupiter Crash, Return, and Treasure are also great tunes. Club America stands as maybe their worst song however and being second on the album sets a weird mood.
EDIT: Upon a Wild Mood Swings re-listen The 13th is not an all time great but is still a great song
