Just want to give a special happy birthday shoutout / appreciation post to arcade 45 minutes away from here in Springfield: "Arcadia" in McLean Illinois.
Thank you Arcadia. For all that you do.
It is only open on Fridays and Saturdays right now, but I highly highly recommend this arcade which is actually multiple buildings including "Pinball Paradise" which is an old McLean bank from the year 1888 turned into an arcade. They have Air BNB's that you can rent out where you have the whole arcade to yourself for the night. Surely I will be doing this for my next birthday.
Endless games... White Water pinball, the Bride of Pinbot, Black Knight 2000, The Shadow™, the list goes on and on forever.
Truly a hidden gem. And most of the time I got I'm about the only one there.
Cheers!www.facebook.com/ILarcadiaP.S. they do have DDR

Been a few months since I've visited Aracdia, I should visit again because they seem to get new stuff all the time. Some friends were planning on visiting us from Texas and we were going to rent the Air BnB but you know, pandemic and all. They have a Judge Dredd pinball which is based on the comic and not the 90s movie which is fun. They sell boards and machines on ebay too.

I must point out that they've had Mystery Castle pinball for a long time, a pretty rare treat indeed. The only thing that keeps Arcadia from being the total package is they never buy new games and there are usually a decent number of games needing repairs, weak flippers, etc.

Even tho I know next to nothing about the subject matter, I've always enjoyed playing that machine wherever I find it. Unfortunately it's more fun to play than the Star Trek TNG machine, which I've tried really hard to love since that is my favorite tv show of all time.

TNG should be everyone's favorite TV show of all time.

Yesterday for my real birthday party (not virtual) me and my friends from school (Jeff & Kevin) took a surprise trip to ARCADIA. They blindfolded me, and then I drove us there! A nice surprise! Then I got a tatoo from @bennybuzzkill
Reporting back to the forum because I got a new high score on all of these games:
SUPER MARIO BROS. MUSHROOM WORLD: 4,139,330 (19th highest score in the world) GILIGAN'S ISLAND: 8,373,710 (29th highest score in the world, I dedicated my score to Dawn) (this is a higher score than Jeff, who on Pinside is #32) VOLTAN ESCAPES COSMIC DOOM: 28,260 (7th highest score in the world) X's & O's: 298,310 (11th highest score in the world)
Not too bad on my world rankings yesterday!

Went to Arcadia for the 1st time in a long while last Saturday afternoon. I only played pinball machines.
I started with Silverball Mania which was not as "manial" as I had hoped but was a good starter. I then piddled around and started working my way thru the pins in the main room. didnt do to great on anything, until Revenge from Mars 3D which was more fun than I remembered it being. I think my high-score was 108,383,610. I think next I put some quarters into Dr. Who but it ate them and didnt give me any balls. Bummer! I screamed at the top of my lungs for a refund but Mr. Yates mustve been busy doing weird Christian Conservative shit. I then went to play Adamm's Family, I think this machine is pretty fun. I only took a picture of one of my scores on that machine and I'm not sure that it was my highest but it was 51,312,470. Then at some point I played Water World and had a lot of fun...I held my breath the whole time to get in tune with the theme, scored 157,564,510. Capt. Fantastic was next, the Elton John machine! I have history with this exact machine as it used to sit in the diner I worked at in Atlanta across from the statue of Paul Bunyon holding a hot dog. We played it everyday and got pretty good even tho I barely knew how to play pinball. I didnt do as well as I used to I dont think but I had a Baja blast playing that machine again. I scored 35,660. I played South Park for a long time, that machine is nice and easy and super fun. My highest score was 44,000,000 BUT I locked my last ball and the machine couldn't find it so i waited for a long time and then shook it with all my rage and got a tilt penalty and my round ended. BUMMER! It was probably God being mad at me for liking South Park.
I played a couple rounds of Black Knight 2000 before decided I didnt want to waste a bunch of my quarters. I played Frankenstein too because i love the sounds on that machine scored 225, 937,550. My best game was Mystery Castle which is super fun to play! I ended up getting the DOOM multiball which is pretty tough to do Jeff said. Before I launched the balls I smoked a bunch of weed and listened to some Doom metal to get in the right mind set. Ended up getting 373,101, 650 which allowed me to enter my initals as the 5th highest score (ZAK).
I also played a lot of Road Show cause its my favorite machine sometimes.
Anyway, there is a recap of my solo pinball trip to McLean that no one asked for!

Very cool, thanks for sharing! If there are any Wikipedia editors out there in the forum, it looks like the page for McLean needs to be updated, as it has under the "Local attractions" heading "America's Playable Arcade Museum - 1980s-style video and pinball arcade" -- guess that's its old title?
