Good morning all of my friends on the forum. thank you for all of your supportiveness in this morning before my big tournament I am competing in. Mitch Baker, I will try my best not to let you down. And of course, I must not forget to watching lots of movies as well. It has been a minute since I've posted a movie review dump so here it is: 28 Days Later (2002): Maybe a movie I really wanted to see when it came out but I was 12 and my parents wouldn't let me watch stuff like that but here I am as an adult man get to watch whatever the heck I want and great now that we are like 19 years later, this movie kinda s$*cks and did not age well, there's some dumb camera effect going on I think where it looks like it was shot on a crappy cell phone. also awful choices of soundtrack music throughout the whole movie. other than that I love a end of the world zombie film, so I am conflicted. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars on the letterbox.
Little Miss Sunshine (2006): Here is a modern "classic" I had not seen before, I agree is a "classic". (but wow I guess it's 15 years old so it's old now). A silly family having fun and getting themselves in to silly situations, what is there not to love! The part at the end make you feel real good! 4.5 out of 5 stars for me. Heck I might bump it up to a 5/5!
Broken (2016): A movie I picked out completely at random, some low-budget movie of some sort and I didn't like it. I admit it wasn't that bad of a movie, it's just not my type of movie! I didn't like the ending though. I don't recommend. 1 out of 5 stars for me.
Arrival (2016): An alien movie that I remember everyone else in the band Livin thing went to see and then I was trying to go too but got held up by a train and missed the movie that night and ended up watching whatever Harry Potter movie that was out instead (which was actually good, heck!). made me realize I need to be watching more movies about aliens instead of zombies. It wasn't a perfect film though, had some interesting ideas but at the end I was left feeling like I had just watched half of a movie, or a part 1 of 2. I don't want them to make a sequel though, I don't care about it that much. 3.5 out of 5.
Godzilla (2019): all of these Godzilla movies. I watched this one. it's a bit too much. but I still like it I guess. I don't know what I really want to see when I watch a movie like this. I liked the other creatures. 3.5 out of 5 for me.

That was great, much fun, movie bunker friends! We should do that again sometime? My favorite part was when they decorated the eggs!
Maybe I should look into seeing if they make the soundtrack for Easter Puppy Bunny on vinyl?

I had a great time at the movie streaming the other night!!! Easter Bunny Puppy is definitely one I will re-watch again in Full and give my full comprehensive mitch baker movie review for! I had to dip out early to go try the new veggie borger at Freddy's (review coming for that too if BJ picks it in his fast food pick thread.)...
And now it's time for another movie dump from me!

1. The Witch (VVitch??) (2015): Here's a modern horror that I am supposed to watch. Oh wow I didn't realize this movie took place in the 1600's, what an interesting nice little twist on a modern horror film! OK I appreciate everyone talking like they are from the time period and all but literally I am too stupid to even understand what is going on because of their whole "thee mustint thy thee thy" mumbo jumpbo ttalk!! boink! I gave it three out of five stars on letterbox, but it probably deserves more. maybe one for me to re-watch sometime.
2. Mission Impossible II (2000): LOL okay SURELY this is going to be the WORST mission impossible movie and I could feel it in my bones the whole time while watching it. It was not good. Actually I am going to copy and paste from letterbox: "I continue my mission of watching ever Mission Impossible movie with my dad Gary Galacki. It was nice out yesterday so we grilled out hot dogs and burgers. before the movie we did the dishes, and my dad put on his "HARD POP" playlist, which kicked off with James Taylor, then went into Linda Ronsdant, and then The Cars. This movie was definitely the worst mission impossible. I have only seen two of them now but I know down inside that this is the worst one. my dad and I didn't like that anyone could just be wearing masks of another guy (and somehow their voices change too)... surely that will not be a thing in all of these movies? hopefully this movie wasn't so bad that my dad will want to stop watching the rest of these movies altogether. Tom cruise had long hair in this one." Two out of five stars for me.
3. Psychomania (1973): well I guess I have stumbled across the ultimate 1970's biker dude California leather jacket horror motorcycle movie! That's not necessarily a bad thing I guess, and it's a fun little short watch. There's just not much more to it than that and I'm giving it the most average score of 2.5 out of 5 stars!
4. The Conjuring (2013): excuse me while I fly through all of these modern horror movies that are big right now. okay this movie... there were big parts that I loved and big things about it that I hated. I hated the couple that the movie or series seems to be about with their sideburns and haircuts. I have a feeling that if I keep watching the other movies in the series I will hate that more and it will ruin it all for me. But other than that I thought this was a grEAT haunted house movie, and the scary basement and hidden holes in the house and doors slamming, etc. was all done very well. maybe the best haunted house movie I have seen even. then I also loved the parts where it reminded me of the Excorsist or Evil Dead like when the mom was processed in the basement. that was scary! I hated when they tried to build a detailed story about "oh, she was hung herself on this exact date on this exact tree right here in this very spot" and they are pulling these old newspaper articles blah blah like it's so easy to do and blah blah blah. This is not necessary and made the movie cheesy to me, sometimes you don't need to try to explain everything, movie. I am still giving it four out of five stars.
5. Thank God It's Friday (1978): Just a feel good 1978 disco movie that captures the year and era well, not much else! Not much of a plot going on here, that's for sure! Just a long dragged out TV show really where you follow groups of people at this giant disco nightclub throughout the night! Donna Summer ! The Commodores! A young Jeff Goldbloom ? I loved it but still giving it an average score of 2.5 out of 5 because there's not much more here than a nice disco time.

Here are some recent watches of mine;
First up is Roswell (1994)
This "Made for TV" movie really stuck out to me on the thrift stores VHS shelf The cover of the tape boasts a really strange cast ; Kyle McLaughlin, Dwight Yoakum, and Martin Sheen in an movie about aliens!! It wasnt very good though.
Next is Wilder Napalm (1993) another recent VHS thrift pick, 90% sure I got this at the Clinton Goodwill. It was only 10 cents.
Reading the synopsis on the back was intense, one of the wackiest concepts I had seen in a while.
starring Dennis Quaid, Debra Winger and Arliss Howard as the main characters with some great side performances by M. Emmet Walsh and Jim Varney
Basically it's about a love triangle between two pyrokinetic brothers one who is a clown and a pyromaniac woman on house arrest. Super Stylized and very fun.
Lastly I just watched Chris Gethard's Career Suicide
Stand Up Comedy hasnt really worked on me in a longtime, but this one did. It's fresh, different, and beautifully written. Topics include Mental Health, The Smiths and substance abuse.
I wasn't super familiar with Chris before Bill Buss had me check out his Podcast Beautiful Anonymous and now I love the dude.

Okay here I go with another 5 movie review dump !!!

Wonder Woman (2017) (the first one): I think after those 4 hour long last two Advengers movies I could go the rest of my life not wanting to watch any more super hero movies. not because they were so good, just because they made me realize I don't care anymore and they have made two many. even if this one is a woman instead of a man. they should have made this one a long time ago. shame on them for making 2 ant man movies, 5 more super man movies, and like 5 x man movies and like 4 iron man movies and whatever dead pool movies is before they made this. to the point where they made this and I don't care. I didn't know this was going to be a world war ii movie though, that was the most interesting twist to me. other than that I already forgot what happened in it. three and a half out of 5 stars. I don't know if I want to watch the next one.
Killer Clowns From Outer Space (1988): Oh boy, I knew that this would be the ultimate 80's wacky horror movie, just from the name or seeing one frame of the whole movie you already know entirely what you are going to get. and I did. and I just happened to have a big ol tub of cotton candy that I was eating too. yeah, they should definitely make a second one right now. I'm amazed by how many different clowns there were too - it's not like there were five clowns and costumes they made for this movie and that was it, there were a LOT. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The Mist (2007): Wow, this was the first movie I actuallyyy rented out from the underground Mitch Baker movie bunker! On DVD! It's a horror movie that came out in 2007, which is like 20 years ago now, so I did not have much high expectations for the effects of this movie. I thought it was going to be really short movie and boring just about a cloud of fog that terrorizes a city. I was pleasantly surprised, there was much more to this movie than that! yes, the monsters effects in the movie were a little outdated but I did not mind that so much, and parts of it were actually scary. (any scene in a movie with a bunch of bugs crawling out of a living person I think automatically makes it a very scary movie for me). then there was a weird twist of an ending that just kind of felt unnecessary. I gave it a 3.5 stars out of 5, but you know what, I'm feeling closer to a 4.
From Beyond (1986): between this and Killer Clowns, this seems to be the other ultimate 80's wacky goopy body horror movie. I've watched these two movies now I feel like I have experienced it all. It does not get any more wackier than that. (Okay Mike I know I need to see "society", that is on my list). I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 stars for the wacky monsters and all of that, the movie and storyline and whatnot itself is definitely not anything special. the wormy thing growing out of their heads, oh boy.
Nomadland (2020): okay Mitch Baker, here I am, watched one of the movies on your weekly pick like 3 weeks later. I saw in your review this movie made you thankful for being able to tour the country with your band looming. I don't think that is how this movie made me feel, but I did like it, and it did make me want to make a trip up to see the "Bad Lands" in South Dakota. and it had me looking up where other parts of this were filmed. The reason this movie stuck out to me big-time was that I could tell right away that the characters in this movie other than the main lady and a couple of others were NOT actors/actresses, they were REAL people and this is the life they live. I could tell this was the case right away. In a way, this makes this not even a movie. Or, it's more of a documentary shot in a style of a normal movie instead of a documentary. And that was the most interesting thing to me. I kind of want to see other movies shot in this same way. Or maybe this isn't really all that a new thing in movies, I am just stupid? Either way, 4 out of 5 stars for me.

Mitch Underground Movie Forum, I have decided to start right where I left off. I was not on a movie watching kick for a while, but I feel it coming back. It's coming back to my bones. It's time to go back to where I left off: April 1st, 2021

Last Days Here (2011) This one is a type of documentary on the hard rock / pioneering metal band PENTAGRAM, but not your typical music documentary that just goes over a history of the band. It's more about overcoming drug addiction and follows the band as they prepare for their big comeback show, but it will take you on some twists and turns that will tie you in. Of course I was mostly drawn into this movie by realizing how much of a 70's hard rock band this PENTAGRAM, which I had believed to be some sort of late 80's band that influenced black metal music (referenced in that movie about Mayhem a bunch) - here PENTAGRAM was, rockin' at the same time as Blue Oyster Cult, they were just wild and heavy and clearly their singer Bobby didn't have it all together for them to ever make it very far. Blows my mind that this guy can be still alive and basically living in his parent's house in this day n' age (okay this doc was 10 years ago) when he got his start singing in bands in the late 60's for crying out loud. (They briefly mention his first band - "SHADES OF DARKNESS"). Five out of five stars for me. Recommended for anybody.
Videodrome (1983) This movie has all of the elements it needs to be perfect for me, but somehow falls a little flat. Debbie Harry of BLONDIE playing a crucial role?!? 1983 horror, and I was pretty quick to realize that our old friend DOGFOOD has made many references to this one in the past. I was always confused on why one of his emails names was BRIAN OBLIVION, well now I know. If I actually ended up liking that movie that could have been my new forum username. But I'm sorry, there weren't really that many good parts when it came down to it and it was generally really hard for me to follow what was going on. 2.5 / 5 stars for me.
Night Of The Lepus (1972) A 1972 horror movie about giant rabbits attacking a town. I watched this around Easter time so it was appropriate. I had to do it in two sittings though because I fell asleep. Yeah, it's great for what it is, but it's too early of a time period for things to be too exciting and I fall asleep. I just about fell asleep the second time too. Sorry. One out of five stars.
Blood Simple (1984) Very pleasantly surprised with this movie. Especially after watching so many movies from the 70's and 80's it was really refreshing to see one with a plotline like this one that took the viewer on a wild ride, maybe was a little complex but also easy to understand and follow along. It had you paying attention to little detail (like who had the gun) and guessing what was going to happen next. Also it took me more than halfway through the movie to realize that was Frances McDormand, who we had JUST seen on Mitch's pick of "Nomadland"! When I realized this I yelled. And it's the first Cohen brothers movie too, so I guess this all makes sense. I recommend. 4.5 / 5 stars.
Tommy (1975) Here we are, I finally watched it. The Who rock opera about pinball. Hmm... what tha heck did I just watch? Boy it is painful to have to sit through an entire musical like this, even this one. There is not pinball in most of the movie either, which isn't much of a surprise. The only part you need is the part they are on the stage with Elton John Captain Fantastic with his giant legs and boots that match his wacky very tall pinball machine. Of course I loved that. There were other parts I got a kick out of too, but I would never want to watch this or any other musical again. 2.5 / 5 stars, not recommended.

Continuing my movie dump right where I left off please and thank you!!!!

Blade Runner 2049 (2017) - a movie I am able to appreciate much more than the original Blade Runner, but also maybe it helped that I did watch the original because I went in with not high expectations of this being an action-packed sci-fi flim. Instead it was more of an art piece filled with beautiful visuals and futuristic scenes and whatnot. The plot and all that was still a little hard to follow from what I remember, but I think it made sense in the end. Four out of five stars.
Psycho Goreman (2020) - This movie looked like it was going to be a fun time to watch, and it was. 3.5 / 5 stars
Willy's Wonderland (2021) - Bahaha! Finally saw this after it was available somewhere online for cheaper than $19.99 like it had been for a long time. You know that this movie was not going to be that good. But look at it, it's a haunted / possessed showbiz pizza horror flim that has my name written all over it. as all of the reviews I read on this before watching, Nicholas Cage does not say a single word. Obviously I thought the best part of the whole movie was that the pinball machine was a reoccurring theme throughout. (did I already talk about in a different thread?) (I think I did mention that the machine was made by re-purposing a DEVIL'S LAIR gottlieb game from the 1980's) (or something like that)... 3 / 5 stars for me. I would recommend to the forum, but there's not much more to it than what I just said.
The Last Blockbuster (2020) - I had talked about somewhere else... I didn't learn a whole lot but I smiled. 3 / 5 stars.
Annabelle (2014) - Why am I watching these movies I do not know, maybe I am running out of the modern horror films to watch. You go into it knowinng what you are going to get. Maybe good to watch around halloween time. Some of the parts are scary, and it is good. but a lot of these same ol movies about a family realizing their house or dolls or whatever is haunted, etc, etc. You know what you are going to get. 2.5 / 5 stars.
