Getting ONE LAST MOVIE DUMP out of the way and doing SIX MOVIES before I move on to the horror movie a day I have been watching in October. At this point I would be all caught up.

Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla (1974): Boy oh boy, I had already talked about this in the GODZILLA thread. Really I guess it's about what I expected it to be. Just some classic godzilla nonsense. There are a total of: 4 big monsters in this movie including: Godzilla, Mechagodzille (which is a giant machine with little guys inside) (I mean normal sized guys, you know what I mean) - the hairy lion-looking guy they have to wake up by singing a song to, and then one of the other lizard guys with spikes that crawls on all fours. All of these monsters are played by people running around in suits. It is great. It is not good, but I love it. I know that all 30 of the other Godzilla movies are going to be exactly like this but I want to watch them all. 1.5/5 stars.
Malignant (2021): Have we talked about this movie here yet??? Yowza! just gonna paste my letterbox score: "Yeah, this movie did get pretty wild so I am giving it a good score. I could tell pretty early on where this was headed, but it was still wild. It also was not that good and there were poor musical choices throughout that ruined it including the bad Pixies cover that played at least 3 times. And they kept showing the shot of the front of that house that made me feel like I was watching a prime time TV show instead of a movie. And once we figured out what was going on there was no ghost - so how does showing the couch cushion moving up and down like a ghost was sitting on it in that first murder scene make any sense?? Am I missing something or did that thing have ghost powers too" 3.5/5 stars.
Iron Man (2008): I watched the first Iron Man movie for the first time ever. Since it came out so long ago I have been avoiding watching more and more because I thought it would be very dated. I was surprisingly wrong! Either that, or I just needed a good 00's superhero origin movie in my life right now. I realize I have not seen a good majority of the marvel movies, and heck, why not utilize that Disney+ account with picture of Gonzo I have the login to and have fun! Also it just feels good watching the early movies where there weren't 40 other superhero movies that had came out before and you have too much to keep up with. 4.5/5 stars.
The Card Counter (2021): I saw a REAL movie in a REAL movie theater sitting next to the REAL Mitch Baker, and this was it!!! Ex-forum member milk T. was also there! It reminded me of a time when I had friends! The movie itself was good, but not a lot happened, and I guess I especially didn't like the ending, which I guess is the same as Taxi Driver or whatever of that guy's other movies. I'm glad that this movie didn't expect me to know what was going on in the poker games they were playing. I didn't realize it was going to be a movie about Abbu Grave going into it either. 2/5 stars, sorry Mitch, but I would also watch any movie with you anytime again
Moonrise Kingdom (2012): I think I realized that the only Wes Anderson movie I have ever seen in my life is Royal Tannenbaums?? I realized that when the new upcoming one showed on the trailers to the movie I watched in the Theater with Mitch. So I had to change that. I just picked one at random and dove in. Of course it's a classic. An all-star cast, beautifully shot scenes, and you know I love a movie about an army of kids scheming against the adults in the 1960's or something. I still am one of those kids scheming against the adults. You know what, 5/5 stars because it was better than Iron Man.
The Incredible Hulk (2008): Okay since I had such a good time with Iron Man I will move on to Marvel Movie #2. This is so confusing because there was a different Hulk movie that came out in 2003 that has nothing to do with this one? Or did it? This movie definitely feels like it is a sequel, but I think that it is not and they were going for that feel on purpose? That way you were putting the pieces of HULK's past together on your own. Okay, I like that aspect of it. I had a good time watching this too, same as Iron Man. My biggest gripe might be with in the end how the villain Hulk ultimately gets defeated is just that Hulk wraps a chain around his neck and he just kind of chokes, but doesn't die and gets arrested I guess? Like what? In order to have a good scene where a villain is ultimately defeated there needs to be like... an "ah-ha"! moment where you discover the villain's weakness, or think of something clever to stop or destroy him. wrapping a chain around the bad hulk's neck definitely does not cut it for me!!! like seriously? 3/5 stars.

... (continued post from earlier)
Last night I watched the film "HELL IN THE PACIFIC" (1968 from picking a random movie from the Mitch Baker Movie Dungeon).
Review from Letterbox'd:
I actually gave this one a 4 out of 5 stars! I don't think I've ever given a movie that's that old that many stars before, so this is special. Old movies do a good job of capturing stranded on desert island type movies, not so much horror movies.
another update / note: looks like there was a documentary made just about this movie at one point, wow. And one other thing I just thought of: some simiarities to the modern classic film "The Lighthouse" here? Not two guys going crazy so much, but two guys on an island and the only actors throughout the whole film is just them.

Mitch, I watched a movie last night (it's getting real hard to watch movies with how busy I am but I was up until 2am just so I could watch a movie) (The Green Knight) I have decided I am not going to talk about it today yet though. I think I am going to go back to doing my 5 at a time movie dumps.

Last night I watched "Annette" The Sparks/Kylo Ren musical. It was a wild ride. I dont know if its good but it is weird and if im gonna watch a f&%kin musical it better be weird.
Before that I watched "Sibling Rivalry" from the year 1990, it was a movie about how Sam Elliott f&%ked Kristie Alley so good he died and she has to navigate that...also shes married to someone else. I cant say that I laughed out loud or anything but I was amused enuff.

Mitch, I am back with another classic 5-movie review dump for you. I can not stop watching 1 movie every night even though I have too much work to do and I don't sleep. I never stopped after october horror. It's just not all horror anymore
The Green Knight (2021): Here we go. A highly anticipated A24 film of 202021 with an all star cast. I don't know if I had high hopes. I kinda wanted to see it in theaters, but our theaters suck and don't play anything I want to see here and don't show movies after 7pm anymore. This would have been a good one to watch in the theater because of stunning visuals and beautiful scenes. But other than that? IDK, this some big deep-cut C-tier fairy tale that didn't make the cut in your book of nursery rhymes growing up and still doesn't make a lot of sense now. Ok the guy cut off the green knights head so he's got to go to the green knight in 1 year and get his head cut off, the end, that is the 'game'. Even when I looked up what exactly was going on here and any deeper meanings there still wasn't a lot to it. 3/5 stars for me I guess.
Iron Man 2 (2010): Oh boy here I go down watching all of the Marvel movies I haven't watched. Looking at reviews a lotta people saying that this is the worst Marvel movie EVER? Hm... After watching I feel that ya sure there isn't a lot special here, but I do appreciate this movie introduced us to key Marvel characters such as Black Widow, Nick Fury, and 'War Machine'. (I seent these characters in later movies I have watched so nice to see their marvel debut). I'm giving it a right down the middle score of 2.5/5.
Fire Walk With Me (1992): Wow here we go, this all time ultimate Twin Peaks movie. I have finally made it here after seeing season 1 and 2. And I have mixed feelings about this one. I acknowledge this is a neccessary piece of the Twin Peaks puzzle and gives somewhat of closure to the whole series. It gives Laura Palmer's character a chance to shine and be alive. And we get to see what really happened. Of course this movie is a much darker tone than the original episodes. It's not so much about a black as a clear sky on a moonless night cup of coffee at a nice diner with your favorite characters. A lot will make you uncomfortable, I can not say I enjoyed my time watching this one too much. Because of all of that, I just can not give this one a score. I give Twin Peaks as a whole like a 9 / 10.
Hawaiian: The Legend of Eddie Aikau (2013): I did a thing where I picked a movie completely at random and got this documentary about a Hawaiian surfer Eddie Aikau who was an active big wave surfer in the late 50's - early 70's. About his accomplishments and his heroic death attempting to lead a team sailing from Hawaii to a different island in 1974. I learned a few things, I liked it. It felt good to watch old surfing videos. Just giving an average 2.5 / 5 score, but who cares about scores for stuff like this.
Every Which Way But Loose (1978): I rented a couple of movies from the Library, and one was a 4-in-1 Clint Eastwood film pack. From my understanding this one was importatn for him branching out in his carreer from your typical westerns. It's a wacky one for Clint. He plays a guy with a pet Orangutang. We never really know why the monkey is there, and isn't even a key part of the movie, but he's there. (of course I do like this). But there are parts in this that are funny but make no sense. Clint gets the girl at the bar's attention by dropping a pair of dentures in her clam chowder. I don't think they were Clint's dentures and I don't know why he had them, but it happened with no explanation. The bad guys they are up against is a 70's nazi biker gang, and the movie ends Disney-kid style with the head bike leader falling in the mud. This sounds like my kinda movie I know, but I was still unimpressed. 1.5 / 5 stars for me.

It's already time for another movie dump. Boy, the time sure fly by fast. Seems like I was already here with a movie dump Mitch. Mithc, it was good seeing you at the show last night with your blue mountain dew. I'm sorry we didn't get to talk because the band Starter Jackets is so loud.

The Black Belly Of The Tarantula (1971): I picked a random movie off of Shudder and got this early 70's classic Italian horror film directed by Paolo Cavara. I'm sure at the time of it's release, this movie was really somethin' and seemed really dark and gruesome. I did enjoy it for what it was I guess, but it's not my favorite. A good 70's horror soundtrack by Ennio Moricone. A killer that stabs victims in the back of the neck with a needle to inject spider poison into them, and then when they are motionless, stabs them in the stomach. Sure that sounds scary, but also this movie was kinda boring. Sorry. I'm only giving 1.5 / 5 stars.
Dune (2021): Oh boy here we go. I'll go on and say right off the bad that I f***'ed up by not watching this in the theaters. Not even normal theaters, I f***'ed up by not watching this in an iMax theater (which we do have in town but I don't think I've ever seen an iMax movie at showplace 12 yet). Also I did TRY to see this movie in the theater but the last showtimes nowadays are at 7:00 when I get off work on the other end of town. Like whattheheck I literally can't watch movies in the theaters if I wanted to anymore. Do people not care about seeing movies anymore? I'm sure this would have been even more magnificent if I had read the Dune books or was familiar with the 80's (not as good from my understanding) film. Sure, it was a lot of big ships taking off in slow motion. I want to say something comparing this to Star Wars, but they probably didn't really copy off of Star Wars (like with the sand worms and spaceships) because the book came out in 1965. It still felt like I was watching a Star War movie at times, I'd even say I bet how whatever 'origin of the force' movie Disney comes out with in 2027 ends up looking like, same acting cast and all. I gave it 4.5 / 5 stars.
Closed For Storm (2020): A documentary about Six Flags New Orleans - a massive theme park in New Orleans that has been abandoned since Katrina hit in 2005. I mostly enjoyed learning on how the park came to be, starting as "Jazzland" in 2000, getting bought up by Six Flags a couple of years later, but ulimately only existing for less than 5 seasons before the hurricane hit and now it's been abandoned for 16 years. Abandoned places and theme parts, right up my alley. I'm giving it a right down the middle score of 2.5 / 5 stars.
The Mask (1994): Here it is. I've wanted to see this movie ever since it came out when I was 4 years old and my parents wouldn't ever let me see it and now I am finally an adult that can watch it. After watching it, there wasn't much more to see than what I have already seen on commercials or trailers or little clips throughout the years (like Mask pulling out big guns out from behind him, his heart going 'beat beat' and his jaw falling onto the table and rolling out, or a little clip of the dog becoming the mask, or him spinning in a tornado around his apartment). This movie was also basically a cartoon, why didn't my parents just let me watch it. And this type of thing would have only made sense around 1994. it does not stand the test of time too well, sorry Mitch. 2 / 5 stars. (smokin)
Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight (1995): What's up with Tales From The Crypt? It's a comic book and TV series and some movies? And they are not all connected, like the Twilight Zone, I can just watch this one movie and be fine? The skeleton lookin' guy that is their mascot looks creepy and scary as heck so I've always wanted to dive in but I don't know where to start, and I'm more tryin to watch movies not TV shows. I guess I started here. A 90's movie where I gotta applaud a lot of the over the top (non CGI) effects, a lot of great zombie demon creatures, a scene where a guy punches a policeman and his fist goes all the way through the face and then he yanks the whole head off with his arm. all of those shenanigans made this great, but it did not have much else going for it IMO. 2 / 5 stars for me! I should actually watch some old Tales From The Crypt TV shows, I see a lot are on youtube.

I have way too much work to do right now but I am back now with another movie dump already.

GIMME DANGER (2016): This was the second movie rented out from the public library: a documentary on THE STOOGES (which Iggy Pop is the last surviving original member of currently, but documentary still featured interviews with members who have passed away in the last couple of decades). The Stooges have been a band that never clicked with me too much, but boy this documentary might have done it. I am not sure if I’m ready to say I think Iggy is the greatest front person of all time, but I have a much greater appreciation for the band itself as something very punk to come out of the 1960’s and something being very ahead of its time that certainly wasn’t in an era where it was going to take on much commercial success. 4/5 stars
THOR (2011): Here I am at the fourth Marvel movie with a superhero I never really cared about seeing his movies: THOR. I gotta say this movie was off to a bad start for me. Even though it was 10 years ago, I don’t think a lot of effects hold up here (like the flyover views of their ancient world with the giant organ pipe mountain or the rainbow road lookin’ bridge), then the beginning scene of them getting in a fight with those ice people was cheesy as heck and almost made me think “I would have loved this when I was 14 years old maybe but what am I doing watching this now.” I suppose after that this movie got better. I didn’t even know that girl from Star Wars was gonna be in this. Can I watch the Disney+ series Loki now? 3/5 stars
SHIN GODZILLA (2016): Amazing. A Japanese made Godzilla movie to put all of the other new modern Godzilla movies to shame. You don’t even need any more Godzilla movies after this one. They really done it, took the original Godzilla from the 1950’s and put it in a modern movie that is beautifully shot and made it look terrifying. (Maybe even a tribute to multiple early forms of Godzilla?) (I’m still not the Godzilla expert, so I don’t know if it’s original form in the movie where it had big googly eyes and was wobbling around on the ground on it’s belly was supposed to resemble another Godzilla movie). But also how great that scene was when we originally saw that Godzilla, and I laughed but it was still terrifying. The majority of this movie is still about politicians and department heads struggling to hold meetings and press conferences about what to do with this beast, but that part was interesting and well done as well. I originally was giving this a 4.5/5 stars but I realize the only thing maybe preventing me from enjoying it 100% was that I was listening to the English dubbed version without subtitles and that was throwing it off for me. as far as I could tell I couldn't find an option to watch the original Japanese version and that would have been the true experience. So 5/5 stars.
CANDYMAN (2021): Finally I got to watch the new Candyman movie. I wished I could have had this a part of my October horror-a-thon, but it wasn’t playing in any theaters here? (what’s up with it being so hard to see new movies in theaters anymore?). I’ll say that there were parts of this I enjoyed more than the original. The growing bee-sting on that guys hand throughout the movie was scary. The candyman appearing in reflections throughout the movie, and how you could not see him in real life was well-done, and also scary. I really don’t have much anything bad to say. 3.5 / 5 stars.
VINYL (2012): I picked a movie at random and actually enjoyed this for what it was. Not to be confused with the Alan Zweig masterpiece documentary from 2000 “Vinyl”, this was supposed to be a movie based on the British 80’s band THE ALARM, which I never considered to be a late 70’s sounding punk band as this film portrays them to be. The movie version of the band is called “WEAPONS OF HAPPINESS”, and I am taking at least one full star off of my score for that being such a bad band name. This felt like a Disney channel made for TV movie most of the time, especially with them getting a band of kids together to play their song, which I kinda liked. You can expect to hear their one hit song in the movie “Free Rock And Roll” a total of one hundred times. This sounds like they are trying to be The Clash, not The Alarm. Apparently before The Alarm they had a band called THE TOILETS which I can’t find anything of online. PS - "Vinyl" is also not a good name for this movie at all, not once do they talk about actual records. 2/5 stars

Mitch, for the first time in two months, last night I did not watch a movie. I thought I was going to, went home from the show and a full day of everything breaking, and laid down on my couch, and when I opened my eyes it was 4:00 am. This was the last day of November so I failed in watching a movie every night in November. Then I went back to bed and slept hard. And woke up with a headache and had to go to the mechanic to see how they ruined my van.
You know what, it kind of felt good not watching a movie and just going to sleep
I'm still in for 1 or 2 movie dumps with what I have watched

Whoops Mitch, I am back with another movie dump. I have some catching up to do it looks like.\ CASTLE FREAK (1995): Here we have a full moon productions movie from 1995. What I do love about this movie is it's basically an 80's horror that came out in '95. If I didn't know what year this came out I'd say it was '85. Just with the style and effects and all that. Hard to believe that a more modern horror classic like SCREAM came out one year later. Other than that though, this movie wasn't good. Sure, the idea of a freaky man living in a castle crawling around is right up my alley. but warning: that freaky man was trying to r*pe a young girl the whole movie, and he did bite the nippels off of another lady. that's not okay to bite the nipples off of someone. I give it a 3/10.DARK CITY (1998): I caught a glimpse of the ending of this on cathode cinema when it was on and it felt like something I needed to watch with this group of alien bald men in a futuristic city. Well, I watched it all, it was a bit long from what I remember. This reminded me of The Matrix even though I have not seen The Matrix and have no idea what The Matrix is even about. Why does the guy from The Lost Boys talk like that in this movie? 6/10 stars I guess, but I've also already forgotten most of this movie. KILL THEM ALL AND COME BACK ALONE (1968): You know, it’s true what Mitch Baker said about picking a movie for the mood you are in. I had a list of movies I wanted to watch last night, but after coming home from an early Thanksgiving dinner with my family and a belly full of pumpkin pie, it only made sense to watch an old western. It was good i guess, but not great. Good to watch a crew of freaks coming together to form a cowboy gang. I wasn't sure if the good guys were supposed to be the Confederates in this movie though, so that threw things off for me, but at the end of the day I don't think either side was supposed to be the good guys. I'm giving it a 5/10. GHOSTBUSTERS II (1989): Here I am making my journey down the Ghostbusters films. I quickly realized in this one that it came out in 1989 (the year I was born) and events of this movie lead up to the big NEW YEARS EVE countdown in New York, the very DAY I was born. Why in the heck did I never watch this movie growing up or no one told me of this I do not know. This could have been my favorite movie of all time, but at this point in my adult life I do not care about it. I realize that all of the classic GHOSTBUSTERS stuff mostly happened in the first movie. The slimy ghost, the marshmallow man - all in the first movie. This one just had a bunch of pink slime - which, heck waitaminute, 1989's THE BLOB came out this same year also featuring pink blob. So who's ripping off who here? THE BLOB did it ten times better. I'm glad that rick maranis got to put on the suit at the end of this movie, but sad that he didn't actually join the team. 6/10 stars. THE LIFE AQUATIC (2004): Well everyone's freaking out about this movie's soundtrack for Black Friday RSD so I better watch it. I'll go down the list of Wes Anderson films, sure. The colors, the scenes, the shots, the scenes where you can see the overall rooms in the submarine boat, very nice. I'll admit, the soundtrack is what really did it for me too. Oh baby that STOOGES song hits so good, especially after watching that Stooges documentary. Bill Murray plays the same character he does in every movie. I love the guy playing the guitar and the songs he's playing. This movie made me like David Bowie even. And of course... The ZOmbies track, I cried. Thank you to a movie for putting a zombies song in it that is not 'Time Of The Season' bravo. Overall, I don't thiink this is my favorite wes Anderson but I am still giving it a 9/10.

I'm back already with another movie dump. I got some catching up to do over here!!! DON'T GROW UP (2015): It was time for me to pick another completely random movie off of Shudder because I do pay $5.99 for Shudder after all I might as well use it. Well, every time I do this I get myself watching some one-star or half-star crap. And this was a one-star film for me. British zombie movie where teens are running around and the adults are ones turning into zombies. There are gangs of kids running around with guns shooting zombies. 2/10 stars for me. GHOSTS OF MARS (2001): This had been on my list of horror films I had to watch in October I didn't get around to - I needed to watch it because the soundtrack came out for Black Friday. Well it was bad, and the soundtrack was even worse. Just sounded like early 00's farting butt guitars and that was the soundtrack. The movie was bad. The acting was bad, the story was bad, and we didn't really get to see any monsters or ghosts or anything from what I remember. I think I fell asleep towards the end. It gets a 2/10 stars for me. A box office big time flop. CAPTAIN AMERICA (2011): Going on down the line of Marvel films and this one I HAD seen but it's been ten years I guess and I don't remember it. This was actually refreshing to watch after watching a few terrible films. With Marvel super hero movies you at least know what you are gonna get. A two hour long movie with a superhero character, they get their powers, an introduction to a bad guy character, and then at some point the bad guy character figures out the superhero weekness and they lose their powers, but then they get them back at some point somehow and the day is saved. Oh yeah, I remember that red skull guy now, kinda cool. Oh yeah, this movie took place during World War II, interesting. Maybe it feels like a slightly better Marvel film because it had a touching sad ending (he kinda died at the end, but really got frozen in time and woke up in the modern world) (that doesn't get resolved until the end of Endgame, I have seen that, ha!) 6/10 stars for me. INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER (1965): Okay, I LOVED this old Godzilla Kaji movie!! When I watched Mechagodzilla Vs. Godzilla, I loved it, but it was bad. This movie I was completely on board the whole way - I guess since it was 1965 I was expecting the effects to be real bad, but they were surprisingly good for the time period, and also from what I understand this one was the most Sci-Fi? (A lot of it takes place in space on one of Jupiter's moons where they meet "Monster Zero" (I don't think anyone said "Astro-Monster" the entire film). LOVED the alien characters. Seriously the movement of Monster Zero was impressive too, I couldn't quite figure out how they did it. The fight between it and Godzilla where godzilla kicked a rock and hit him, I laughed so hard. Loved it, I need to keep watching more of these movies. 8/10 stars for me. GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE (2021): Here we are in 2021 and we get this film. Do we need this? No. But yes what a nice time to go to the Taylorville Cinnema and watch it. This movie was definitely slow in taking off. Once again I don't think anything in the Ghostbusters series grabs me as being all time classic material, even though it seems like it should be right up my alley. Once it got going it was a fun time. I do like the run down small town settings in new movies, and the chase scene in the car along the strip was fun. I spent pretty much the whole entire movie waiting for Bill Murray to show up, which he did not until the very last couple of minutes, so I feel a little ripped off there. And boy, I wasn't completely expecting my dad RICK MARANIS to show up, but so sad that he didn't. I'll give it a 7/10.
