from byNWR...Dennis Hopper’s first starring role is as Johnny Drake, a sailor who spots the stunning Mora (Linda Lawson) in a beatnik jazz club, falls in love with her, and gradually is drawn into a strange world in which she may or may not be a mermaid.
Today's a little change of the pace. One of the more captivating reads in byNWR about a forgotten country western star Frankie Miller. The article concludes with 80+ Texan doing a set in his living room. It was just so great. Here's a YouTube of his "hit."
Hey chili freaks, today's pick is this guitar flick. It's a fun music B-movie romp made by the infamous Arch Hall, starring his son Jr. Bring back made-for-the-drive-in music flicks. Arch Hall Jr. plays a Danoelectric, so that's also cool
We're closing out byNWR Week with a doozy. I'm infinitely fascinated by cinema, and the history of it. Especially when you watch a movie like "Hot Thrills and Warm Chills" directed by Dale Berry (a country western musician actor turned sexploitation director). This feels like an novice director made two separate films edited them together (I think this is actually what happened iirc). It caught some steam when it was released due to the "nude" "scenes" in it.
