Jabroni, just wanted to mention to the forum that I am slowly but surely watching this Beatles "Get Back" Disney Plus thing. At this point we are all old enough in our lives to admit that we all love the Beatles. I don't feel I am not a Beatles superfan enough to truly appreciate what I am watching right now, but I will get there one day.
Today I think I am deciding that The Magical Mystery Tour is my favorite Beatles release and blasting that sh&%t (2008 remasterd version) in the store.

Some Jaboroni, last night I watched the new DINOSAUR JR. documentary that came out (I paid $4.99 on apple tv for this)
Sure it made me like Dinosaur Jr. the band even more than I already do. Sure, it was great seeing interviews with Kim Gordon, Henry Rollins, Mike Watt, and everybody else. Other than that it wasn't a very special documentary and aside from them being a good band there isn't some miraculous story behind the band other than they were a band, touring was rough, they didn't make it as big as Nirvana did, 2/3 of the members quit in the 90's and then they got back together in the 00's and it's been smooth sailing ever since.
(saw them with Fred Malcom at Pygmallion 2012, I am glad I did)

So I saw the ELVIS movie because there was nothing else at the movies I wanted to see. It was Elvis! They nailed his suits, which were fun to watch. And although I prefer Baz luhrmans music career, that Baz can sure make a movie. At the start of the movie I didn't think the guy they got looked like elvis. But he sure did look like fat elvis there at the end. I didn't really pay attention for the last ten minutes because my butt hurt and I was distracted and I realized my chair seat was broken??? At the movies??? Like someone had jumped up and down on it and so the cushion was busted? So I had to switch chairs. It all worked out in the end though because after spending almost 3 hours with elvis watching him play at the end made me cry and I was far from my friends who would have probably laughed at me for grieving the king of Rock and roll movies.

Has anyone seen the movie Airheads? I watched it the other night. It's got Brendan Frasier, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler holding a radio station hostage to get them to play their bands demo. Kramer is also in it. It might be the best movie I've ever seen

It's definitely got an all-star cast and has everything to be a great movie... not what I would call the best, but I would recommend it!!
The best movie that I have never heard ANYONE ever talk about that I recently watched is DETROIT ROCK CITY (1999):
the opening scene was truly meant for me:
and the pinball scene just for the forum!!!

Holy cr*p forum, have we talked about this?
Just now finishing this up... it is so good. The animated cartoon parts with Tim Armstrong narrating the history of ska, and so many of the real ones like Mike Park, Dan Potthast, Jeff Rosenstock, Doreen from The Skatalites, Buck from the Toasters, (a little too much of Reel Big Fish though). So good!!!

I finally did it, I finally watched the documentary A BAND CALLED DEATH (2012)
I guess it's been 10 years since this doc has came out, I feel like so many people have told me about it or have told me to watch it and I've read enough about the band DEATH that I already know pretty much all there is to know. Still, an important band and wonderful story. I just wish they had more than the handful of songs they recorded in the 70's but don't we all! I truly wonder what would have happened if big time Columbia records head honcho Clive Davis had said "okay" and signed this band called "Death" and put out their record??
The downside to this is that I feel like this is a band that unfortunately only had two songs. It's not their fault, if people had actually paid more attention to what they were doing at the time or if they had gotten signed to an actual label then this would be a completely different story. They could have been THE RAMONES of some sort as we know it, or even BLACK FLAG or BAD BRAINS with a few albums and historically an essential punk band.

What's up pinheads? I'm back at it with ANOTHER MUSIC MOVIE MEGAPIK. I can't figure out how to watch the weird al movie, SO i watched "fresh fruit for rotting eyeballs", about the Dead Kennedys. I picked this one because I love Jello.
I watched this from a perspective of "will this help Jeff learn about the dead Kennedys" and left with a resounding no its a terribly put together documentary. But, it's got a lot of great raw footage in a semi-coherent order.

In complete other news I watched HALLOWEEN 12 (the new Halloween movie) at the Taylorville theater by myself last night after one last canoe with my good friend Evan and after a round of Taco Gringo.
I thought this would be a great theater experience on this beautiful fall day, but the movie was actually shown on their upstairs smaller theater and kinda sucked. The sound was no where like movie theater sound, felt like I was just watching a giant TV at someone's house and they didn't even have theater sound speakers. The movie kinda sucked too, I wanted to like this one so bad since Chili Bowl Mullet man even gave it a bad review. I wanted it to be wild and wacky and love it because of it being so different from the other Halloweens, in the same way I love Halloween III, but no. It was just kinda bad bad.
Anyways, I mention here because in the movie they play the Dead Kennedys song "Halloween" in FULL
