Putting the new trailer here!!! Breaking pinball news, pinsters!
actually know what, edited with my initial thoughts: - after playing both the PRO and PREMIUM versions of Stern's last game, LED ZEPPELIN I am beginning to feel the big differences between the PRO and PREMIUMS on their games. (Maybe this is more of a new thing?? They are really gettin' us by making the better features in the PREMIUM MODELS) - I see suggested retail for PRO is $6200 and PREMIUM is $7800 - I am seeing complaints about plastic ramps on the PRO model.. I agree those are not as nice. our PRO turtles has metal ramps, right?? Is STERN setting a new standard putting cheap plastic ramps on PRO and keeping those nice metal ones on PREMIUM models from now on? - Is that pizza-spinner magnet only available on PREMIUM? Reminds me a lot of turtles... I do like it though... - Also the moving upper playfield, very cool, but only on PREMIUM. - I don't care much about getting this game for our arcade but I do want to pay close attention to wherever it is going to pop up anywhere near us so I can play.

When I was looking at the pictures, I was wondering if the Mando head was going to rotate like BoP, but it looks like in the video it just raises and lowers, so maybe that's not so bad not having that mech on the pro. I was worried the pro was missing some really key features, but maybe it's not. I think the grogu magnet thing only happens on the premium? If so I don't think that will be a huge deal anyway just going with the pro. I am happy to see the main toys seem to be present on the pro, such as Grogu and Mando's ship.
Overall, I was wondering if this was going to be an actually good theme and design worth changing my arcade plans for, and maybe it is? It would be a while tho before I would be ready to get another high dollar machine unless I traded out something big... Still, will have to wait until we can see actual gameplay, which chances are Dead Flip will be streaming it before the end of the week with the way things usually go.
I see no Cara Dune so far, so looks like they went that route.
Also, it is very common for Stern to put plastic ramps on the pro and metal on the premium. That's how my star trek pro was and even tho not as cool, still very serviceable. I don't really notice it over time. The important part is that they don't sacrifice good design on the pro, such as they did with Zep. Turtles actually does very well as a pro, just like Star Trek did. It varies machine to machine whether the pro is a big leap from the premium or not. Judging by how close these machines are in price, and the fact the pro is so expensive, i bet the pro is not really lacking in much of the core design features, just some cool mechs that may not actually add much to gameplay.

Tonight everyone in the entire building told me the Mandalorian pinball really wasn't that great and that I shouldn't buy it. Is anyone on the forum going to stick up for me??

- The Mandalorian TV series is GREAT - The Mandalorian pinball looks COOL (but premium better than pro) - but we don't need to get this game - until the year 2046 when BABY YODA is the new SHREK

Well guess what. Looks like the ONE and ONLY Mandalorian Pinball that is listed as playable to the public in the WORLD right now is a pro model here at the North End Pub Pinball in Lafayette, Indiana. Close to 2 1/2 hours away from Springfield, but only one hour from Champaign... just about... looks like there are some pretty good pinball spots in that area too so I am looking at planning my next pinball trip...

I did finally get to see the game reveal stream on this. I have to say I still think this might be the best designed game and theme integration stern has done in the last 2 years. I liked the part where they were saying: wow it flows really well, like turtles, but isn't as fast as turtles, which is good!
Of course this was the LE, so we still have yet to see what the Pro is like. I don't think the missing grogu magnet or the stripped down upper playfield is going to matter all that much, although without those there really isn't anything that's completely unique to this game on the pro model, where turtles has the spinning pizza magnet.
The design is still just the traditional fan layout that a lot of pinball nerds say is overused, but it still works imo. Brian Eddy also designed stranger things with pretty much the same layout, it just didn't work as well as the big toy in the middle was too close and too dangerous, which really ramped up the difficulty of the game. We still enjoy playing MM and ATM, so why not something with some newer bells and whistles. The fan layout seems to offer the best balance for casual players and nerds. Also the part where you can buy items with beskar to compliment your strategy might be interesting. I think GOT and other games tried to do this but it really hasn't been executed in a way that works well imo.
It's still tempting for me to get this one. But I'm not going to be able to afford something big until around the end of the year and hopefully I'll have a chance to play one by then and also see what else comes out this year.
