Looks like I might be heading to a few big pinball spots this weekend in Indiana, and this one - Main Street Amusements would be the biggest... according to their website they have 40 games - mainstreetamusements.wordpress.com/
Among them is: BIG BANG BAR, the rarest pinball (or most expensive (?)) game of all time - here's a documentary:

Reporting back in to say this was a very good arcade. One of the best i have ever been to, even. An essential to have on the downtown strip in this nice little college town. If I lived in Lafayette I would be in heaven.
The scary thing about the three arcades I went to though is that none of them charged a flat rate admission and it wasn't like arcadia where all the games are just $0.50 a game or 3 for $1.00. I go to arcadia with those prices and only spend like ten bucks. No, these places you needed $1 to play a game every time and that money adds up quick especially when you don't know these pinballs and they are draining your balls left and right. At least my money is going to a good pinball cause.
Like pinball on Perry, this arcade had a GREAT mix of games including some really rare ones. Some big key takeaways:
- I got to play BIG BANG BAR, one of the most sought after games of all time. It was good. I don't remember too much about it to report back about though.
- Also got to play BIG LABOUWSKI (the bowling game one). ((very very rare)) My thoughts: what the heck, this isn't really a pinball. I was expecting a pinball. I played it once.. don't have a score to put on pinside or anything. this is a weird one like "slugfest" or something. I would say this isn't really a pinball. I'm not interested. I would rather play ICE COLD BEER than this.
- Low and behold there were two of the older games with the legendary DISCO BANANA FLIPPERS. I got too excited on seeing these and screamed. Then I played the games. The flippers were like made out of foam instead of normal plastic and elastic bumper material. That made for a not fun pinball playing experience. You could never hit the ball that hard. Were the original flippers like this or are they replacement flippers because the originals are not made anymore anywhere?
- Yes, I also played Spooky pinball games TOTAL NUCLEAR ANNIALAHTION (a game which who's cousin's wife's spouse kid is someone we know and was at dumb records a while back) (he designed it). and RICK AND MARTY PINBALL. both Spooky pinball games. TOTAL NUCLEAR ANNIHILATION was definitely different as well, but I liked it better than big lebaouski. I don't think I would want this game for our arcade but I appreciate its uniqueness. It was also the LOUDEST pinball I have ever played, in a good way. The BASS on it went wwwwWWWWWEwwWWWWWWWWwww and shook the whole entire building when I was playing. Really that part stuck out to me the most. I think rick and morty was similar.

that big labowski was just a not rare strikes and spares bowler with some custom artwork. If you want to hear about the REAL Big Lebowski pinball, maybe I'll tell you the tale sometime.
I've yet to actually play a game with banana flippers, but I can say there are reproductions that can be easily ordered so I assume that's just how the banana flippers were. Obviously they were not popular or they would have put them on more games.
I think you need to approach TNA a little differently than other pinballs with its unique design. i had fun the one time I played it. Although if it's not fun for the casual player then I agree we probably shouldn't get it. I do think it has a real sweet sound and light show if nothing else. I haven't played a rick and morty yet but it seems to be getting mixed reviews.
