Sorry, I have to just make an all-around thread for record farming.

welcome to my record room.
Recently I inherited a record collection from a lady whose uncle passed away. It was a lot of good jazz records I never see. I later asked the lady what the name of her uncle was and she said "Bob White" and he was a saxophone player in the area? That's a hard name to search for. He had some things that caught my attention including Adrian Belew's records which was the member of King Crimson that lived in Springfield for a while.
Here is one that was in the collection (original blue note):
kevin you should make a special "kevin's jazz corner" thread?

A real interesting find today...
I have been having a fun time going through boxes of 45's lately. For the most part we sell them for a quarter a piece. I really don't want to take the time to look up and list every 45 that we plop out into the bins. there's a lot of old stuff and old country. but a lot of good 50's and 60's music.
This one caught my attention today:

...looked it up on discogs and what do you know, there are 2 people that own this 45, and 208 have it listed in their 'wantlist'. There are none of them on the market, and none have ever been sold. Instead of a label, there is a logo for "Century Customer Recording Service". So I am guessing this band was not even on a label, they paid some service to do a limited run of their record... and who knows how many of these exist. They have two other 45s recorded through their run in the 1960's and this is the 2nd. They were from the small town of Pasco, Washington.
I threw the record up on discogs for $32.85 and it sold in two minutes. I would have felt bad selling it for more (that's already too much for 2 songs), the copy I have plays all the way through but isn't even in the best shape. To some guy in Florida. I asked him what the deal with this band was, and he just said "some really rare and good garage rock" and that he also has the 3rd 45 that they released. I'll be sending you a nice pen pal, Fabio in Florida.

@cory @zack
I came across this tape (not sure if I got it from Zack?) some cassette from 1993 called BLIND WITNESS from DIXON ILLINOIS.
I can't find anything online about this one at all! It's not on youtube, not on discogs, nothin! I don't even have a working cassette player set up!

I happened to see him at the library trying to use a computer and he said he didn't like that you posted his picture, at all, he seemed really mad about it. I think he left to ask someone to help him figure out how to get on the forum to yell at you

Maybe we should make it easier for folks to get on the forum. At the next dumb records show I'll run a booth.
Anyways to get this thread back on topic I think that nice, aerated soil is essential to good record farming.

people I kno say they are afraid of the forum because they only use it on their phones and not computers
so Maybe idea is that we can have a booth at the next show where we give out free Windows 98 desktop computers with the URL to the forum written on them? What do you guys think

This man had (has?) the largest record collection in all of Springfield, he had two houses full and had definitely bought thousands from us over the past year... but also has been snatching up whatever collections he possibly can from people and garage sales over this city for the past decade+ probably, (also has apparently never listened to a single record since 1989) and now apparently he's sent tens of thousands of records off to Arizona without giving me or anybody else the chance to buy them here!
I know i come of as being a little PURTURB'D here, and I also don't know what to believe out of everything he just said, but holy heck this man just sucked up tens of thousands of records out of our town and just sent them to the other end of the country that is not cool and it breaks my record farming heart
sorry to bring RECORD FARMING DRAMA to the forum
