Okay, some a disappointing thing to point out before we get too into this:
- Wow, we had STERN INSIDER CONNECT up and running yesterday when the pinball was out in the middle of the room. It was so cool. We were unlocking achievements, picking our avatars, adding each other as friends, and having a great time. I scored a GRAND SLAM HIGH SCORE of 385,889,530 when logged in to my account. Wow. Updating my forum tagline now. - The bad news is that right after we moved the pinball back to the arcade, the internet don't work back there so Stern Insider Connect don't work in our arcade!!! Dang it!!! Is there a way to run a long ethernet cable to another router to the back of the arcade or some sh*t to fix this?? WHAT do we gotta do?? I was ready to have a lot of fun getting people to make accounts.

Wow so many people are really enjoying Godzilla! At least I've been able to play it very late at night a couple times after full days of record store day work and being completely exhausted and putting up terrible scores.
That's certainly not stopping others from coming in and breaking it! Thanks to our freeloader Robb now the building doesn't work. I've disabled it in the settings so you can still play the game, it just doesn't move up and down to divert balls and queue up the multiball. You can still get multiball by shooting the building shot of course. I'll have to research why the building keeps getting stuck.
Just like cars, more extras means more that can break!

Forum users, Jeff explaining to me that the building in Godzilla being disabled (because Robb broke it) was confusing to me at first. But I did finally get the chance to play my first game all week last night, with the building being "disabled" like this. Let me describe how the game is different in my own simple terms:
- You don't lock the balls anymore. Once you get the building down to being "destroyed" with hits adding damage to it, GODZILLA MULTIBALL is just lit, and all it takes is ONE building shot from there - (then the magnet grab just holds onto the ball, and it spits out the other balls from the regular launch as Blue Oyster Cult plays).
If I was reading this, I would understand better. I also feel that this new version of the game like this is NOT AS FUN, and also EASIER, and I would also feel like I CHEATED if I were to beat my current score of 385 million playing in this mode. (But also - is this what playing Godzilla on the PRO model is like ?)
Also, the guy whose name I forget and has the initials "A I R" was in there playing the game for four hours nonstop the other day (before the building was disabled) and got a NEW HIGH SCORE of 697 million. So I guess I'll remove GODZILLA CHAMP from my forum tag for now.
- Good Morning

Sorry we have to get rid of Godzilla now. I watched Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla and I didn't realize that even in the 70s, the monsters would spew blood everywhere and it scarred my children.

Oh boy I spent a couple hours trying to fix the building last night. There is nothing out there on the internet about the problem we're having, which makes sense since there aren't many of these machines in the wild yet. I posted on the big pinside forum, we'll see what happens there.
I see the building is leaning forward and getting stuck on a lip of metal at the base, but I can't figure out how to prevent that from happening. I took the whole mech out of the machine to have a closer look but I just don't see how to keep the building from doing that so far.
I put it all back in and its' still disabled for now.

The new arcade regular is this guy whose name is "AARON" that's been coming into our arcade a lot more lately, especially since we got Godzilla. His initials is "A I R". He's definitely been taking advantage of the disabled building situation right now, spending 4 hours playing the game nonstop every day until it's 7:15pm and I kick him out because we are closed. A couple of days ago he got the new Grand Champion score of 988,000,000, which I am not sure truly counts since the game is not fully playing the way it was intended to.
Other Aaron, if you make it over here on to our underground forum and you are reading this, just know that I very much appreciate and value you as someone in this town that is very enthusiastic about pinball. And I am sorry I am busy most of the time you are trying to talk to me for hours about pinball stuff. I really do love pinball that much too, I am just very busy these days. I do also believe you would still be the high score holder right now if the game was in proper working condition, just maybe it would be a little bit less than 988 million.

Friday night I finally got the building fixed. I sent a support ticket into stern but didn't get a response until today whihc was not a very helpful response so I'm glad I didn't wait on that. According to the Pinside forum I'm the first person to experience this problem and I'm also the first one to fix this problem. Although the fix was very risky as it involved a lot of beating a prying on the support structure of the building but I ended up replacing some cheap rivetted screws with actual screws so I could tighten everything up better and I played it Sunday night and it was still working!
Now I have to go fix cue ball again and also Time Machine is broken now too. I keep wondering if I had more pins in there then there would be more working at one time, however there would also be more to fix all the time too! How can I win???

Just want to announce that I tried using STERN INSIDER CONNECT for the first time in a while and it seemed to work out great! Just logged a very mediocre score of 75 million onto Godzilla. I'm gonna keep using! (I wish I could like to my account, but I can't find the link at all? my username is "DumbRecords" lmao)
P.S. AIR guy has broken 1 billion points on this game, I am not sure if that was before or after the building function was disabled.

OK, time to start breaking this game down more, forum.
One question I have is... what's up with these numbers "0/4, 0/5, 0/8, 07" that go along with the monsters in the Kauju Battle Select screen? I am assuming it's number of tasks or something, but I've never made it to the battle select twice in one game, so they are always 0's for me... does this mean that the 0/4 monsters are easiest? Does it stay the same with these monsters every time? I notice that I might pick megalon multiple times, but what I have to do changes between shooting flashing ramp shots and shooting the spinners to defeat.

I guess it's time for me to finally sit down and read the entire OFFICIAL GODZILLA RULEBOOK .PDF link from Stern

I think the numbers mean how many shots it takes to finish the monster, so if you didn't finish the battle then you would restart it and have that many shots left. I do know for sure each monster has different shots involved and megalon is the hardest as those shots are roaming. I usually go for eberah or gigan. Eborah is spinners and Gigan is ramps. Then Titanosaurus is targets.
I also haven't been able finish more than 1 monster battle in a game yet. I think if you finish 2 then you can go to the tier 2 battles that are locked.

GREAT SCOTT, pinball fanatics! If you turn to PAGE 6 and 7 of the GODZILLA PINBALL RULE HANDBOOK, we do indeed see how important these giant monster battles are!
And wow, playing the game knowing what you are shooting for with these monster battles is so much better!
Looks like I had been picking MEGALON most of the time, which no I see Jeff is right, that is the most complex of the Tier 1 monsters and I should probably stay away from that for now. A good stragety is probably knowing exactly what you are shooting for with one of the first three monsters and going for it every time.
I just popped back to the arcade and played a game and I got through two of the battles in one game! - I got more than halfway through EBIRAH (went for those spinner shots) - and even though I lost I was awarded progressing in getting MOTRHA and RODAN to join me in battle, which helped! Then I got to battle TITANOSAURUS and defeated him in all 5 shots! 3 of those power line shots (and those targets are small, so they aren't very obvious unless you know where exactly you are shooting), then I had to hit the "master cannon target" and then the "Captive ball?" (which is really just the pop bumper) to bring it all home. Then I immediately lost my third ball, which is a shame because if I kept going I could have unlocked the tier 2 bosses.

I just set my new high score on GODZILLA (590 million). 488 million on the first ball.
I slept on the COUCH inside of DUMB RECORDS after a LATE NIGHT last night after the DUSK and TIM BUCHANAN show. Some of us went to TRUCK STOP last night and maybe for the first time ever I got one of the TRUCK STOP DESSERTS on the display as you walk in. I had to do it after AMOS PITSCH of DUSK and up there as like my top 3 song writers of all time ordered the CHERRY CHEESECAKE, and then 3 more of us said F*CK IT, WE ARE GETTING THE CHERRY CHEESECAKE TOO. It was REAL good and it hit the spot. It was after 1am by the time we got outta there. There were 11 people staying in my apartment, and I offered up my bed and bedroom and slept in my own store. LUKE MCNEIL of HOSPITAL JOB also offered up his place for the bands to stay, but I dunno it might have been easier for them to all just stay together at my place. Maybe I feel bad for not planning ahead to make sure they had a space with more room to crash. But hey I thought I did a good job of completely cleaning out my RECORD ROOM yesterday, I did have the carpet completely cleared off for the first time since I have lived there pretty much.
So I slept in the store and woke up at around 8am (I slept good and I would do it AGAIN). I wasn't sure what to do with myself when I woke up so I turned on the arcade and played GODZILLA. That is when I set this score.
Something else I realized with this game and STERN INSIDER CONNECT. Maybe this tactic is cheating, but when I started the game I was too lazy to log in and didn't. But then after the first ball I had 488 million, which is already higher than any high score I ever had, I tried logging in, and it let me! Plus it plugged in a bunch of achievements. So no need to log in to Stern Insider Connected in the future until I KNOW that it is a good game and I am on my second or third ball!!
DUSK is the best live band to have ever played on our stage in our shitty l*ttle record store in our sh*tty little town. The turnout for the show was OKAY, but WAY more people should have been there to see a band that is that good. I am not completely disappointed in the show and love you all, but that is the last show I will ever have booked. We don't deserve them to come back, or that many good bands. But I'll travel to St. Louis or Chicago to see that band any day.
- me p much talking to myself on the pinball forum in the morning in my record store after I just woke up and set a pinball high score
