Boy oh boy did I get to see a cool ass place a couple weeks ago. Water doo records in downtown Austin. This place was cool because it was the only place in Austin with someone checking masks. Good for them. I went inside and looked around and this place was huge! But it didn't remind me of a record store. They had doo dad's and t shirts and a big ol spooky skeleton. It reminded me of one of those FYE stores at the mall. I hooked right and something made me believe in Waterdoo again - in the bottom right of the picture above when I went was the PUNKS IN PEORIA book vinyl record. I beamed with pride. A little bit of home in this strange strangd land. I came to the realization that the pinks in Peoria vinyl was the only new vinyl they had. They had a lot of records, but I think it was just all the stuff they haven't been able to sell for decades. I enjoyed looking through the box sets and a book about a house in Austin that did punk shows. This was cool to flip through until I went to the fest and saw a book at the punk flea market about a different punk house in gainesville and it looked really similar. I think it's like "weird _______" that comedian Chris gethard worked for and after it became national and now theres a weird everything book like weird Decatur. I'm pretty sure these dudes are finding grungy houses putting random house show photos in them and telling tall tales about bands. Anyway I think that Waterloo is cool like a Sam goody. You go in there, have a couple of laughs, but at the end of the day it's just another big ol corporation store probably owned by livenation or some shit that's there to bank on nostalgia. Actually Sam goody is better because the last Sam goody I was in (at least a year ago probably 10 or more) had these headphone stations where you could listen to the music. This place had none of that. But it did have "Metallica-opoly". You know what the more I think about it the more I hate this place. Down with Waterdoo records.

They have a Boogaloo comp in their international section but Boogaloo is from New York.
