Forum, it's time to get back into doing featured games of the week. Especially now that we have more games on Galaga Machine.
This week's featured game is CONGO BONGO (1983): Congo Bongo, also known as Tip Top, is an isometric platform game released by Sega for arcades in 1983. The game includes a ROM that contains a message indicating it was likely coded at least in part by the company Ikegami Tsushinki. The game is viewed in an isometric perspective, like Sega's previous game Zaxxon. The player takes the role of a red-nosed safari explorer who tries to catch an ape named "Bongo". The explorer seeks Bongo to enact revenge for an apparent practical joke in which Bongo set fire to the hunter's tent, giving him a literal "hotfoot". He must pursue the ape across four different screens, with the goal of moving from the lower left corner to the upper right corner of every screen. He must overcome obstacles like falling coconuts, charging rhinos, and avoiding falls into the water.
FUn. I played it a few times and it's like Donkey Kong.
What's your score on Congo Bongo? I am setting the bar low and here with my high score of 4,820

I enjoy this game so much that it was disabled on the old Galaga machine hardware this whole time. But we've all seen the glitz and glamor of the top 40 hype games like Galaga and Burger Time, so now is the time to dive deeper into Congo Bongo!
