Has this been said at all?
Okay... I just watched the movie THE TOXIC AVENGER (1984) for the first time in my life last night.
It was way more low-budget and wackier than I even expected. What a wild movie. But you know what, THIS would make the perfect pinball machine!?!? Stern, Spooky, anybody??

Thanks to TWIPY for sometimes actually doing a Monday update, this week I've learned SPOOKY PINBALL is teasing their next game and it's SCOOBY DOO
This is an interesting development as it doesn't feel like it's been that long since their last big release with Halloween/Ultraman, and that game was very ambitious. Also they're currently doing another run of TNA. Looking at pinside, I see Halloween came out in 2021, and their game before that was rick and morty in 2020, so maybe it's about time.
I'm curious to see how Scooby Doo is going to turn out, there isn't really anything showing us what the game is going to look like basically just announcing that it will be their next game. I wouldn't say I'm a huge scooby doo fan, but if the game is good, this wouldn't be a bad pinball theme overall. Plus it looks like they're going for the classic stylings.

Why didn't any of us think about SCOOBY DOO as a pinball theme? That is a perfect fit for them and I am sure it will be a great game! TOXIC AVENGER would have been great too, but Scooby Doo, great!

ya know the more I think about it, Scooby doo is a great theme for pinball
Wow they released a lot of info about the game today! Plus a feature video. I am intrigued by this game, the outside return rails and ball lock mechanism in the apron seems cool, although hard to know how cool until we get a chance to play one.
Of course I'm not saying I'm going to try to get one and preorders are probably going to sell out the day they go live. I am looking forward to playing it someday, which I wonder if I'll have a chance to before the pinball expo next year.
I can definitely say this is much more exciting than James Bond.

Wow I have a new source for pinball news which is Knapp Arcade (knapparcade.org). They seem to have a lot more sweet juicy details about what may be coming out next than TWIPY ever allows without a paywall involved. This article was especially juicy: www.knapparcade.org/post/first-details-of-next-stern-keith-elwin-game-new-special-modes-are-coming-to-stern-pinball-godzillaAlthough they're only speculating on possible themes for upcoming pins, I was not aware of the changes to the release schedule. Turns out Stern is only planning 2 cornerstone titles for 2023. I guess the heady days of 2019 when they released 4 or more are over. They mention the 2 games planned for this year will be designed by Brian Eddy (Medieval Madness, Stranger Things, Mando) and Jack Danger. So far Jack has only created a home version of Jurassic Park so this will be his first full fledged pinball. I have seen him hint at it off and on in his posts so now it's all making sense that he's a legit pinball designer now. Keith Elwin isn't planning to do a pin this year so his next pin won't be until 2024. So this kind of sets up 2023 as a bit of a dud year probably. Brian Eddy's games have been pretty mediocre so it will be up to Jack Danger if he can really wow the crowd. Also there was a gameplay vid released for Scooby Doo from Spooky and it looks pretty good. I'm wondering if that is going to be the best game released in 2023. And according to another article Jersey Jack will be releasing their next game soon.

Wow American Pinball and Mutimorphic are both teasing new games to be announced soon. Maybe not the most exciting pinball companies, but I could see the possibility of American finally hitting the nail on the head with something we would really like. Seems like they're always rolling out decent games, just not something really great.
American's next game seems to be a sci-fi theme, which is really all that you can take from the tease. I assume that means it will be a generic theme, which could have potential.
Of course no one probably cares about Multimorphic since those games are really hard to find, very expensive and I question how well they hold up. Their last game was Weird Al which was interesting. Their next game has Bowen Kerins and Scott Danesi involved which is very interesting as they both last teamed up on the Rick and Morty pin from Spooky. Those are some pretty impressive people to be involved for a game very few people will probably play.
Even tho Stern is only planning 2 titles, 2023 still looks to be an interesting year for pinball with Spooky releasing Scooby Doo which still looks good and everyone else gearing up for their next game.

It's just been poppin lately with new pinball machines being released. I got the rundown from Twipy as soon as I got out of bed this morning, and then an update from knapp arcade with some more details.
The new game coming out for Multimorphic that no one cares about is called Final Resistance!. Of course The real news is Jersey Jack has announced their next pin is The Godfather, and it will be fully revealed tomorrow!
I think Godfather is a weird theme for a pin, but then again there is also a Sopranos pinball and other mafia themed pinballs so maybe it's not that weird, what does the forum think?
That's quite a jump for Jersey Jack from Toy Story to Godfather.
I'm genuinely interested in seeing the full reveal of the new American Pinball game Galactic Tank Force. Judging from the new teaser video, it's going to be a bit silly. It will really depend on the design of the game if it's going to be good or not of course. This theme so far reminds me of Big Guns, which was another silly space battle original theme that I want to get for our arcade someday.

I'm waiting for fireworks at Epcot to start, so I haven't been able to watch with sound. It looks super fun, but I'm easily amused. Lost of cool characters and pinball contraptions I can't name. That roll around the post part was pretty rad.

I think they have a collectors edition for 15k and limited edition for 12k. I might have to whack someone if I want to afford this. I'm iffy on if I like this. I have two issues. I think this feels more like a video game rather than pinball. My other issue is the guy who dressed up in this video to fit the theme. youtu.be/FS6dhExWoAk

jackparanoia have you played a Jersey Jack pin yet? They have a different feel than Stern, Williams, etc. They are known for stuffing excessive bright multi colored lights in every game. This game looks a little more toned down to fit the theme better. The flippers also feel different in Jersey Jack games, a bit more squishy with only just enough power to get up ramps and stuff, and of course the giant screen. But when you play the game you're not looking at the screen anyway so it may feel a little less like a video game in person. Jersey Jack games should definitely be played before buying. I would say my favorite Jersey Jack game so far is Willy Wonka but most people hate that one. I also enjoyed playing the Toy Story pin even tho I still think it's weird that it's only toy story 4 themed. Maybe some Saturday in April we can all go to CP Pinball for my birthday and maybe they will have this one by then. We can invite Robb too even tho he's not on the forum.
