jackparanoia have you played a Jersey Jack pin yet? They have a different feel than Stern, Williams, etc. They are known for stuffing excessive bright multi colored lights in every game. This game looks a little more toned down to fit the theme better. The flippers also feel different in Jersey Jack games, a bit more squishy with only just enough power to get up ramps and stuff, and of course the giant screen. But when you play the game you're not looking at the screen anyway so it may feel a little less like a video game in person. Jersey Jack games should definitely be played before buying. I would say my favorite Jersey Jack game so far is Willy Wonka but most people hate that one. I also enjoyed playing the Toy Story pin even tho I still think it's weird that it's only toy story 4 themed. Maybe some Saturday in April we can all go to CP Pinball for my birthday and maybe they will have this one by then. We can invite Robb too even tho he's not on the forum. I for sure need to go to cp soon. Birthday pinball it is! Great choice. I haven't played a jersey Jack's, but I'm getting a vibe that is more about the games theme rather than playability.

I wouldn't say it's all about theme. Theme is the first thing to notice on a pin, but playablility is also important. If it has that "ok one more game" feel, then it's good. Perfect example for me is Iron Maiden. I've never listened to IM and then when the pin came out I ignored it. Then I noticed whenever I play one, it's a really fun game and I very much enjoy it, to the point that I started checking out IM's music and have started appreciating them a little. Now IM is on top of my list for my next modern premium game someday.

Wowee, another new pinball announcement. This time Chicago Gaming Company has announced Pulp Fiction!
There is a lot about this one that's pretty eye catching. First CGC is releasing a game that is not a remake of a classic williams title like Medieval Madness, Attack from Mars, etc. Also the designer is Mark Ritchie! I had no idea Mark was alive let alone still up for designing a pinball. He's brothers with the famous Steve Ritchie and has designed Taxi, FishTales, Firepower 2, and 90s Indiana Jones. I've never seen a mention of him in the modern era. His signature design is the criss-cross ramps such as in Taxi and Fishtales. Although that's not happening in this game, what is interesting is all the other throwback designs. All pinball armor, legs and coin door are old school steel and most interesting is alpha-numeric displays, no screens! Also I noticed the center shot with the drop targets and ball lock are just like Indiana Jones. The playfield looks a little simple but I think there is some stuff here that's not as simple as it seems at first glance. I don't think this is going to be as simple of a game as The Beatles or Juicy Melons.
I think Pulp Fiction is an interesting choice for a theme. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I secretly enjoyed it (don't tell anyone).
I'm also noticing all these other companies are releasing toppers with their limited additions, while we're still waiting on Stern to release a topper for Godzilla.

Okay, WTF! First of all what the h*ll, every big pinball company all decided they were going to all announce new games like all in the same weeK??!
Second of all, WTF I thought CHICAGO GAMING COMPANY only dealt with re-makes of games!?!? What other original games have they done??
Guess I should actually watch the movie PULP FICTION finally

I watched live gameplay of The Godfather, and I wasn't a huge fan. I was hoping more for an old school darker vibe. Way too much rgb for me get into enjoying the sketchy Guido side of my Italian heritage. I still want to play it though.
This pulp fiction game seems to be themed far better. I've only seen the hype video, so hopefully the gameplay fits with the vibe.

Guess I should actually watch the movie PULP FICTION finally Well one thing is they're partnering with another company to make this game, so that does add another variable. This reminds me of when Spooky released TNA as that was not their design, they partnered to get it released. CGC makes other games that are not pinball, most notably the Arcade Legends line of official licensed multicades. Way back in 2003 they released an original pinball called Vacation America which was a home use only machine and pretty limited run. It was a full sized machine. So that was probably them dipping their toe but it took them 12 years their next game which was the Medieval Madness remake. Now I suppose they're looking to branch out, especially considering they're going to start running out of 90s williams games to remake that everyone can agree on. Although I would think Cirque Voltaire would be a good choice for a remake. One thing that's exciting is CGC makes games with the best quality of all pinball manufacturers, at least that's the opinion so far.

Someday I'll play it for real because I really like that one.
