Okay, one day into this game and let me tell you some things:
- OUR FIRST WIDE BODY GAME HERE AT THE DUMB RECORDS ARCADE! (That is cool!) (also first game with FOUR FLIPPERS) - haha the sound from BLACKOUT is BACK. I love it! Surely this will be annoying when people leave it on in the middle of games, but that is okay! I actually missed that sound. - There are THREE BALLS in this game, you can get Multi-ball by locking balls in the two holes on the playfield and then hitting the LAUNCH hole. - also different in that the rollover targets start out lit and you unlight-them.
- that RAMP SHOT sure is hard when the ramp is down, I've only actually made it once. (Only played the game like 5 times though)
- my high score right now is 531,950 (18th on pinside)

well actually, Orbitor was our first widebody.
To lock the balls, you need to finish the drop target banks for each lock shot. You can get a 2 ball or 3 ball multiball. There isn't a jackpot shot, just that your multiballs double or triple the playfield which is common in this era until Jackpot shots became king.
I'm pretty pleased it all stayed working after transportation and reassembly. These System 80 pins are the most notorious for problems.

GONNA PUT THIS HERE:

Wow, does the 3x and 5x playfield scoring increase go on top of the "WARBASE MULTIPLIERS" (which you get from un-lighting M-A-R-S) - to a maximum of FIVE TIMES FIVE TIMES (25X) playfield scoring if you have three balls going??
I was demonstrating this game to MITCH BAKER at the show last night, explaining how to get the multiball going. I had a really good run, and got the multi-ball going while the playfield was already 5X because of that "warbase multiplier"... then we looked up at my score after I lost my EPIC good ball and it was only like 80,000. SO I guess I FLIPPED this machine, I was just not paying good attention!! My final score would end up being 1,334,440. I am confident that this is real, but also hesitant on putting it up on pinside just yet. I might try to flip the machine again to prove to myself I can do it.
A thing about this game is that all of your progress pretty much re-sets after you drain a ball. You don't get to keep your playfield multipliers, or even your ball locks after you drain a ball. Because of this it's not like other pinballs where once you have a high score it's easier to rack up the big points. It's all about having one good ball on this game.

Increased my high score to 611,900 the other night during the Homeless Gospel Choir show.
My secret is to make sure I have Mitch Baker standing next to me, and then I do good.

The four flippers was a fun surprise. Although I felt the game was too dark and I couldn't see what I was doing, so I moved on pretty quick

Sorry, logging in to the forum for the first time in a week to report that the bottom left pop-bumper on this game is not registering at all! I think Jeff is even here in the bathroom right now, but I won't let him know in person. Only on the forum. clearly I need to start playing the games more and post in the forum more.

I have noticed the bumpers are not responding well on Mars, on my list. I also still need to add the battery to it so it can remember hi scores.

Last night I added the battery mod so it can start saving hi scores, but it still doesn't seem to be doing that, so I must have missed something else I'm supposed to do. Of course the original battery that was built into the board had corroded off, which is why this is necessary.
I also worked on the pop bumpers and got 3 out of 4 working, so it's a bit more lively now. Not sure yet what's up with the 4th pop. Gottlieb system 80 pop bumpers of course have to be different and each one has its own dedicated mini-board to control it, so extra complexity on troubleshooting.

I'm back to working on this game again. Last night I updated the GI lighting so the playfield is much brighter. That 4th pop is still not working but I see what the problem is now and need to order some parts. And I still need to get some of the finicky lights working on the playfield which will probably involve replacing bulb sockets.

This game is gone now (sad), but I am very proud that the last time I ever played it I knocked out a personal high score of:
747,270 Which puts me at #20 on pinside! I'll take it.
It was very nice to finally play with all of the lights and everything working. I had multi-ball 3 different times.
Now... on to two new pinballs in the arcade! I don't even know where to begin! What an exciting day for the forum!
