(I accidentally had two threads for suspense somehow so I am changing this)
BIG ARCADE DILEMA: SHOULD WE TRADE SHREK FOR FOO FIGHTERS?
(or maybe I should phrase the poll better... we also know that we love SHREK the most, but after having it for two years, is it time to move on? Yes or no?)

I guess it's up to Jack, not sure who else is looking at this forum, maybe it's just us now.

Honestly I'm not even going to vote. I think you hit the nail dead on when you said the people that will be outraged by this are the ones that don't play pinball (there are a lot of those people though, so be ready for the backlash)
but the other thing about this is that we've had Shrek for close to 2 years now... I think that's a good amount of time for any pin, even the ultimate ones like Shrek and Medieval Madness.
one thing I do like about Shrek though is it's a 2007 machine and we've got a good variety decades covered in pinball in our arcade. Our current lineup go like this:
1 60's pin (suspense) 1 70's pin (dolly) 2 80's pins (hollywood, mousin') 1 90's pin (dredd) 1 00's pin (shrak) 1 20's pin (godzilla)
so because of this, I think it might make more sense for us to trade Shrek for a Wheel of Fortune pinball?

There are only a few good 00s pins out there and we've all played them many times. LOTR, POTC, and Tron are the only ones I'd be interested in and 2 of those are going to be at premium price levels. It's kind of like Addams Family where it's a nice enough game, I just don't think the premium price is worth it given how much we've all overplayed it. Wheel of Fortune is a real weird one and I don't think I've ever seen it for sale.
The deal for Foo is good for business, and it opens us up to making better trades in the future. Did we mention this would be for a Foo Premium?? Although the kids will be screaming about Shrek, the old men who make up the majority of our sales revenue will be all about it. At least it's not Rush?
I've been watching vids on Foo, those songs really work for me in a pinball machine. Having not really paid much attention to foo fighters, the songs are not worn out for me, although they certainly will after we've owned this game for a year. I really like how this game flows. The shots feel nice and original. There is a slingshot or something on the mid right playfield that shoots the ball back to the upper playfield which is a nice touch and keeps you on your toes. The Shatz targets and the deadpost are unique of course. I like the execution of the theme as it has just the right amount of silliness. I would say the one thing I don't like on this pin is the butt rock half drunk sounding announcer. He sounds like a real dude bro that I would expect to hear on wqlz or something, but at least there is enough variation in the game that it doesn't get too grating.
We could introduce it as the closest we'll ever get to a Nirvana pinball

I suppose I'll also say that I also enjoy arcades that have a variety of games from different decades. Also if we do this then that should be it for modern games, no more than 2 at one time, not that I would have the budget otherwise. maybe someday when we have all the money and space we can make sure to have a separate room for each decade of game, starting with 1300s outdoor lawn games.

Honestly I only played Shrek when I needed to hear fart noises. It's not my favorite game.
Sorry I vanished for a bit. I've had actual responsibilities lately. Miss you nerds.

okay for diversity's sake let's just say this if we have 7 pinballs in the arcade, this is the ideal lineup:
1 60's or 70's pin 2 80's pins 2 90's pin 1 10's pin 1 20's pin
but yes having both Godzilla and Foo Fighters is A-OK
